Wanda Vaughn

I discovered that I like to write when I was in the fifth grade. I wrote poetry, short stories, and puppet skits through my public school years. I tried my hand at an epic fantasy adventure during my senior year, but the story never got past the Dark Forest. Still, my wild imagination had to get out somewhere. So, I kept writing. But this time I followed the advice of “write what you know.”
As a native of Huntsville, Alabama, I grew up hearing stories of rocket ships and the river, the mills and Monte Sano. It tickled me that we have streets, businesses, and an apartment complex named after a famous cow. After discovering the joys and challenges of research, I sat down to write about Clara. And the rest is history...
I live in Somerville, Alabama, with four dogs, two cats, two teenagers, and one husband. My life is full. See my blog at http://alabamagirl-wanda.blogspot.com/
